Wilbur W. Davis, 91, formerly of Temple, passed away Friday September 23rd in the Willow Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Kutztown, with his loving family by his side.
Wilbur was married to the late Betty M. Davis who passed away March 9, 2018. They shared a loving marriage of sixty-seven years.
Wilbur is predeceased by his parents, Eugene Davis, Sr. and Mary Davis.
Surviving are Wilbur’s children, Michael L. Davis husband of Gail Kopicz, Kathy L. wife of Donald "Max" R. Hess, and Brent S. husband of Terri Davis.
Also, seven grandchildren; Melissa (Hess) wife of Christopher Wolfe, Kira (Davis) wife Daniel Schwalenberg, Alicia (Davis) wife of Pedro Morales, Shelby (Davis) wife of Brett Nicolas, Kyrsten (Davis) wife of Daniel Deeds, Derek husband of Sarah James, and Lisa (Kopicz) wife of Ryan Hunter and several great grandchildren.
There is a surviving brother, Eugene Davis, Jr. and two deceased brothers, Richard and Gerald Davis.
Wilbur served in the Navy Reserve.
He was employed by Birdsboro Steel Corp. in Reading for twenty-one years.
Wilbur was also employed for G. H. Delp, which later became Wetterau, and then became Super Valu, retiring in 1993 as a truck driver.
Wilbur coached Little League Baseball and Football for the “Temple Black Knights” from the 1960’s thru the late 1980’s.
Wilbur and Betty enjoyed traveling with his 5th wheel travel trailer and dual wheel Chevy pickup truck.
He enjoyed word searches and playing sudoku.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed traveling to Potter County to his beloved hunting cabin, named Splinter Lodge, which he and his fellow hunters built.
FUNERAL IS RESCHEDULED
A graveside service will be held in Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton Rd. and Route 61, on Monday October 3rd at 10:30 am. Please enter the cemetery and form a procession along the road next to the cemetery office.
The Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home in Temple is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
