Verna Mary (Kershner) Heffner 94 died Monday morning in her residence in Ontelaunee Township. She was the widow of Adam C. Heffner who died October 16, 2012.
Verna was born in Lenhartsville, Greenwich Township, on January 11, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Harry J. and Jennie K. (Siep) Kershner.
Surviving are to sons; Daniel A. husband of Stephanie Heffner of Ontelaunee Township, and Thomas J. husband of Phyllis Heffner of Leesport, PA. Verna was blessed to have two grandchildren; Katie and Joshua Heffner.
Also, surviving is a sister; Anna widow of Harold Hemerly of Hamburg; and two brothers, Norman Kershner and companion, Lilly of Kempton; and Richard husband of Ruth Kershner of Hamburg.
The following brothers and sisters predeceased Verna; Esther Biehl, Paul Kershner, Stanley Kershner, Effie Wagner, and Mabel Himmelberger.
The Heffner family is pleased to have many nieces and nephews surviving.
Mrs. Heffner was a member of the Zion Moselem's Lutheran Church.
Verna was a homemaker during her lifetime but worked besides her husband in the agricultural industry.
Funeral services from Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc. Temple on Saturday at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Bruce Osterhout officiating. Interment in Zion Moselem Lutheran Church Cemetery, Richmond Township. Family will received friends on Saturday 9:30 A.M. until time of service.
