Tillie (DeLuca) Valgus Hummel, 87, of Temple, Muhlenberg Twp., passed away Tuesday December 24th in her residence.
She was married to the late Peter Valgus and then to the late Paul D. Hummel.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas DeLuca and Grace (Carabello) DeLuca.
She was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the church choir for many years.
She was employed in the textile industry most of her life until retiring and was most recently employed at Izod.
She was a member of the Key Board World Family at Fairgrounds Square Mall.
Surviving are her two sons, John Valgus, husband of Sandra of Fleetwood and Daniel Valgus of Temple.
She is predeceased by a daughter, Antoinette "Tania" Valgus and a step son, Michael P. Hummel.
There is a granddaughter, Christina J. Valgus and three step grandsons.
Also, there are three brothers, Ronald DeLuca of New York, Anthony DeLuca of Laureldale, and Natale DeLuca of Muhlenberg Twp.
She is predeceased by siblings, Richard and Benjamin DeLuca, Josephine (DeLuca) Baltz, and Mary Ann (DeLuca) Spangler.
She has a long time friend and companion, Mary Fizz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday December 30th at 10 am in Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 3121 Kutztown Rd., Reading, PA, Hyde Park. Entombment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum. A viewing will be held on Monday in Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church from 9 am until the mass begins at 10 am.
