Shirley M. Luckenbill

Shirley M. Luckenbill, 79, of Penn Twp., passed away Wednesday, October 21st in the Reading Hospital.

Shirley was married for sixty one years to Robert D. Luckenbill , they celebrated their wedding anniversary on September 25th.

Born in Cumru Twp., she was the daughter of the late Edward Hoyer and Laura (Wayne) Hoyer.

Shirley was a 1954 graduate of Penn Bernville High School. She was employed for thirty one years for Bernville Bank now National Penn Bank.

Shirley was a member of St. Thomas Church in Bernville where she very much enjoyed attending services.

In earlier years she played in a band with her father, she especially enjoyed playing the Mandolin.

Additional survivors include a son, Rickie Lee R. Luckenbill and wife Susan of Bethel.

A granddaughter, Danielle H. Mock of Wernersville and great grandchild, Elliot M. Mock.

There are four siblings, Wayne Hoyer and wife Jackie, Melvin Hoyer, Loretta, wife of Carroll Snyder, and Gloria, wife of Harold Gassert all of Bernville.

Also there are two nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 28th at 10:30 am in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville with Reverend William Miller officiating. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery in Bernville.

A viewing will take place on Tuesday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 pm and Wednesday morning from 9:30 am until time of service in the funeral home.
