Shirley M. (Davis) Lesher 74 of Jefferson Township died Monday morning in her residence. She was the widow of Wayne W. Lesher, who died October 16, 2013.
Mrs. Lesher was the daughter of the late George and Edna (Burkert) Davis.
Surviving is a son, William W. husband of Lolly B. Lesher of Upper Tulpehocken Township. She was very proud of her four grandchildren; Joshua, Jaylene, Laura, and Olivia Lesher.
Three brothers; Carl, Glenn, and Dennis Davis. A sister, Audrey Kline.
A brother, Martin Davis, predeceased her in death.
Mrs. Lesher was a life member of Zion Blue Mountain United Church of Christ.
She truly enjoyed music and was a former member of the church choir. Additionally, she served several years as the church secretary.
Shirley was a graduate of the former Perry High School in the class of 1957.
Mrs. Lesher along with her husband had devoted forty-five years to the agriculture industry and Way-Har Dairy Store which her family continues to operate today.
She was an active member of the Berks County Farm Women #8, serving as Treasurer for many years.
Shirley's prior employment was with the former Caron Industries of Robesonia as a payroll clerk for sixteen years.
Shirley greatly enjoyed her friends and meeting with them at local restaurants every Friday night.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 A.M. from Zion Blue Mountain United Church of Christ, 6573 Old US 22, Strausstown with Reverend Joshua Knappenberger officiating. Interment will be in Strausstown Cemetery.
Friends and family are invited to call at the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, Bernville on Thursday 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. and at the church on Friday 9:30 A.M. until time of services.
