Ruth E. (Seidel) Weitzel

October 28, 1923 — July 3, 2022

Ruth Eleanor Weitzel has met her savior on 7/3/2022 in Henderson, North Carolina. Born in Sharpsville, Pa. on 10/28/1923, she was the middle child of 5 children.

Her parents were Paul Breneiser Seidel and Emma Stuart Forstler.

She married her high school sweetheart, Keith Charles Weitzel, on Thanksgiving Day in 1945, after he returned from World War II Army duty in France and Germany.

She was married for 58 plus years. Keith passed away in 2004.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. Her surviving children are Kent Charles Weitzel DMD, living in Citra, Florida and Lori Ann Weitzel, living in Littleton, North Carolina. One child predeceased her in 2014, Sharon Ruth Rebholz, of Shillington, Pa.

She has one surviving brother, Robert Seidel, of Edgewater, Maryland. She has six surviving grandchildren, one deceased grandchild and six great-grandchildren. In addition, she has six surviving nieces and nephews and one deceased nephew.
She worked for thirteen years for the W.T. Grant Company as a customer service supervisor, retiring in 1976.

She was a member of the Muhlenberg Womens Club for more than 60 years. She also was extremely proficient at shorthand, serving as administrative assistant during wartime for the Civil Air Force in Philadelphia and member secretary of the administrative board of Central Park United Methodist Church in Reading, Pa. She was a volunteer for Berks Heim in the 1960s.

A viewing will be held in the Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple on Friday, July 15th from 6 pm until 8 pm and on Saturday morning from 10 am until 11 am.

A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, July 16th at 11 am with interment to follow in Pleasant View Cemetery in Sinking Spring.
