Romaine M. (Fink) Weand, 87, of Blandon, Pa., passed away Saturday, April 4, at Elternhaus Assisted Living in Dayton, Md.
Born in Montgomery County, Pa., January 2, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Laura (Batzel) Fink.
Romaine was a member of Alsace Lutheran Church in Reading, Pa.
She spent her early childhood living on a farm in Lancaster County. The family later moved to Berks County, where she remained a resident throughout her adult life, until her health declined over the last three years.
She was a devoted wife and mother. She also drove school bus for the Kutztown Area School District until retirement.
Romaine loved to cook and enjoyed maintaining a beautiful yard with lots of flowers. She enjoyed antique hunting and had a hobby hand painting milk cans. She also played golf, loved to ride her bicycle and take long walks.
Survivors: her daughter, Sandra (Jim) Jones, of Baltimore, Md.; her brother, Mahlon (June) Fink, of Sinking Spring, Pa.; her sister-in-law, Barbara Fink, of Wyomissing, Pa.; many nieces and nephews; friends; and her loving and faithful dog, Nellie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl I. Weand; nine brothers: Pollard, Ronald, Rhuel, Kenneth, Wayne, Ross, Leon, Harold and Monroe Fink; and her sister, Lucille Fix.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 14th at 1 pm in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple. A viewing will be held on Tuesday one hour prior to services in the funeral home. Entombment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
