Robert C. “Bob” Schadler, Jr., 92, of Muhlenberg Twp. passed away Thursday in his residence.
Bob was married to the love of his life, Phyllis L. (Yohe) Schadler who passed away December 5, 2009.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Robert C. Schadler, Sr., and Pearl (Rudy) Schadler.
Bob served honorably in the U. S. Army as a Master Sergeant. He also was a Master Mechanic. He served during the Korean War in Korea and fought in the battle of Pork Chop Hill.
Bob was employed for the General Baking Co. (Bond Bread) from 1954 until 1970. He retired from Stroehmann Bread in Reading following twenty-two years of service.
He formerly attended First Baptist Church in Reading.
Bob loved his faithful companion, his pet dog, “Blue”.
Bob was a handyman, he enjoyed working with his hands. He enjoyed helping his family and other people in his neighborhood.
Survivors include a son, Rickie R. Schadler, and wife, Judith P., Fleetwood; and two daughters, Sandy L., wife of Mark D. Clouser, Northmont; and Bobbilyn Schadler, Temple.
Also surviving are six grandchildren: Jeffrey Gerhart, Crystal Rios, Mandy Alexander, wife of Andrew, Jeremy Schadler and wife, Michele, Michael Schadler and wife, Sarah, and Toby Schadler and wife, Amy.
There are eight great-grandchildren: Isabella, Zoey, and Olivia Rios, and Logan, Christopher, Benjamin, Abigail, and Alison Schadler.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Steven Gerhart
Bob is predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 27th at 11 AM in the Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple.
A viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 10 AM until 11 AM in the funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Laureldale Cemetery.
Potted plants are preferred or memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society, 1801 N. 11th St., Reading, PA 19604.
