Robert F. Hetzog Sr

Robert F, Hertzog Sr., 77, of Muhlenberg Township, died Friday at 9:50 a.m., surrounded by his loving family. in Penn State Health St. Joseph Hospital.
He was the husband of Barbara L. (Adams) Hertzog. They shared a loving marriage if fifty-seven years.
Mr. Hertzog was born in Temple. He was the son of the late Walter and Elsie (Bauer) Hertzog.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Robert F. Jr., husband of Rebecca F. Hertzog, of Reading, and Denise A., wife of Joey S. Sweitzer, of Muhlenberg Township. Three grandchildren: Phillip Hertzog, Jordan Sweitzer and James Sweitzer. A brother, Richard Hertzog, of Muhlenberg Township.
Robert was predeceased by a brother and sister, Ronald Hertzog and Carol Christ.
He served as treasurer for thirty-five years for the General Battery Credit Union (GBC), and served on the board of directors of Pagoda Federal Credit Union for thirteen years. Robert retired in 1998 with thirty-three years of service for Exide Technology, last working as a foreman, and Yuasa/Exide as a service technician.
Mr. Hertzog graduated from Muhlenberg High School.
He was known as "Mr. Fix IT." He enjoyed repairing almost anything. He also enjoyed bowling, was a history buff and loved long Sunday drives with this wife.
Funeral services from Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc. Temple, on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Family will receive friends on Thursday evening 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Interment in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
