Richard D. Wert 81 of Muhlenberg Township died Friday morning in his residence.
He was the husband of Patricia A. (Miller) Wert. They had a loving marriage of sixty years. Richard was very devoted to his children and grandchildren during his lifetime.
Mr. Wert was born on February 9, 1935 in Shoemakersville. He was the son of the late Emerson E. and Helen I. (Haas) Wert
Surviving in addition to his wife are the following children: Michael R. husband of Carol A. Wert of Muhlenberg Township; Steven D. husband of Joleen Wert of Bumpis Mills, Tennessee; Holly L. wife of Mark Kievach of Temple; and Brian S. husband of Julie Wert of Shillington. Eight Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren.
Also, surviving is a brother, Elmer E. Wert, of Laureldale; and a sister, Dolores J. Younker, of Shoemakersville.
Richard was a member of Faith Evangelical Congregational Church, Temple.
Mr. Wert retired in 1998 with forty sever years of service last working as a milk bottler by Clover Farms Dairy of Reading. He was a member of the Reading Teamsters Union #429.

Family will receive friends on Saturday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of memorial service.
