Richard J. Joachim

Richard J. Joachim, 82, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away Friday September 19th in his residence with his loving family by his side.

He was married to Edith M. (Robinson) Joachim.

Born in Madison Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Claude Joachim and Marie (Cramer) Joachim.

He was employed by Western Electric in New York, he then transferred to Western Electric in Reading, which became A T & T. He retired after many years of service. He was a volunteer for the Muhlenberg Ambulance Assoc. as a driver.

He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church in Hyde Park where he served as a Lector.

He served in the Marines during the Korean War.

Surviving along with his loving wife are three daughters, Dyanne M. Galavage of Bern Twp., Denise M. Snyder, wife of Peter of Lenhartsville, and Joann A. Peters, wife of Brian of Wernersville.

There are nine grandchildren, Michael Berkel and wife Ashley, Laura Berkel, Nathan Peters, Ryan and Lindsey Galavage, Ian and Peter Snyder, and Steven and Lisa Joachim.

Also, two brothers, Bob Joachim and wife Mary and Jim Joachim and wife Ann both of Madison Wisconsin.

He is predeceased by a brother, Bill Joachim and survived by his wife Betty Joachim of Madison Wisconsin.

He is also predeceased by a sister, Dolores.

He is survived by his faithful companion, Sky

A memorial mass of christian burial will be celebrated on Monday September 29th at 10 am in Gethsemane Cemetery Chapel of Resurrection, 3139 Kutztown Rd., Reading, PA 19605.

Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Lebanon County at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 7585517, Topeka, Kansas, 66675 and Animal Rescue League, P. O. Box 69, Mohnton, PA 19540.
