Richard T. Balthaser

Richard T. Balthaser, 77, of Penn Twp., passed away Friday, February 6th in the Reading Hospital.

Richard was married to Sandra J. (Achey) Balthaser.

Born in Bernville, he was the son of the late Elmer W. and Helen M. (Degler) Balthaser.

He graduated in 1955 from Penn Bernville High School and then was employed for forty five years for Arrow International, retiring in 2000.

He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church in Bernville.

He was a member of the Bernville and Rehrersburg Fire Companies.

Richard and his wife Sandra enjoyed attending dinner shows and traveling with the Young at Heart group in Bernville.

Additional survivors include his children, Nicole, widow of Carl Kalbach of Pottsboro, TX, Darla Balthaser wife of John Menesini of Bronx, NY, and Denny Hoppman, husband of Vanhlevane "Von" of Wernersville.

There are three grandchildren, Tiffany Laster and Boston and Madison Hoppman and three great grandchildren, Chase, Colton, and Lexi Laster.

Also, two brothers, Donald Balthaser and wife Peggy and Barry Balthaser and wife Jerilyn both of Bernville.

He is predeceased by a grandson, Cory Kalbach.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 10th at 1:30 pm in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville with burial to follow in St. Thomas Cemetery in Bernville. A viewing will take place from 12:30 until 1:30 pm on Tuesday in the funeral home.
