Raymond E. Moore, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024, in Laureldale, PA, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 12, 1942, in Chester, PA, lived a life full of joy, love, and dedication to both his family and his work.
Raymond had a vibrant personality, known for his fun-loving spirit and his passion for spending quality time with his family. A devoted husband, he found great joy in taking his late wife, Janet, to the beach, where they created lasting memories together. He was also an avid bowler, continuing to partake in the sport until the age of 76, showcasing his athleticism and love for competition. In addition to bowling, Raymond served as a pitcher for his church's softball team, further demonstrating his competitive nature and team spirit.
Professionally, Raymond was committed to his roles, having worked as a security guard at St. Joseph's Hospital and as a Bakery Manager at Acme. His work ethic and dedication were evident in every position he held, earning him respect among his colleagues and community members alike.
Raymond is remembered fondly by his family, which includes his children, Mary Opal Plants, Raymond E. Moore, husband of Bonnie, and Latisha Lynn News, wife of Daniel. He took immense pride in his grandchildren: Bethany Kulp, Joseph Plants, Zachary News, Nathanel News, and Rosalyn News, as well as his great-granddaughter, Hannah Jewell. Raymond also held dear his siblings, June Greenman, Gary Moore, Alice McCellan, and Linda May, along with many nieces and nephews who will carry on his legacy of warmth and familial love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond L. and Alice (Heald) Moore, who instilled in him the values of hard work and love for family that he carried throughout his life.
Memorial services to celebrate Raymond's life will be held on August 24, 2024, at Laureldale Cemetery Chapel in Reading, PA. Visitation will be 10:00 -11:00AM, with services at 11:00 AM and burial to follow.
Raymond R. Moore will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
