Philip Russo, 88, of Muhlenberg Township passed away Wednesday evening in Maidencreek Place.
Philip was married to the late Mary Rita (O’Brien) Russo.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Andrew Russo and Rosaria (Grissi) Russo.
Philip was employed as a tool & die maker, then as plant manager, for thirty-six years for Wearever Pen & Pencil located in Deer Lake.
He was employed for seven years at Boyertown Casket Company as an engineer.
Also, he was a tool & die maker at Construction Fasteners in Wyomissing.
Philip served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church in Hyde Park.
Phil’s love of boating and fishing kept him and Rita busy into retirement. He never missed a good yard sale and his grandchildren were the love of his life.
Surviving are two loving sons, Thomas P. Russo and wife Sandra Russo and Andrew R. Russo and wife Colleen Russo both of Temple.
There are three adoring grandchildren, Nichole May Russo, Kelly R. Murphy, wife of Joel Murphy, and Joseph R. Russo.
There is a sister, Mary Carson, wife of Kit Carson.
Philip was predeceased by a grandson, Anthony Thomas Russo and a brother, Vito Russo.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 13th at 11 am in the Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 10 am until 11 am in the funeral home.
Burial will follow the service in Laureldale Cemetery.
