Norman J. DeLong, 85, of Bernville, passed away Friday, November 18th in the Reading Hospital.
Norman was married to Janice J. (Groff) DeLong for sixty four years. He was a devoted Husband, Dad and Pappy.
Born on November 11th, 1931 in Perry Twp, he was
the son of the late George and Annie (Hoffman) DeLong.
He was a member of St. Thomas Church in Bernville.
He graduated from Hamburg High School.
He was employed by M. G. DeLong Plumbing in Bernville for twenty one years. He also was employed by Associated Wholesalers Inc. in Robesonia for twenty one years.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting and had passion for civil war history.
Additional survivors include three children, Gary DeLong and wife Sharon of Bernville, Connie Humberston, widow of Burt Humberston, fiancé of Stephen Brown of Lewes, Delaware, and Tina Grindrod and husband Eric of S. Heidelberg Twp.
There are seven grandchildren, Nathan, Benjamin, Joshua, Ellen, and Noah Humberston, and Bryan and Kaylee Grindrod.
He is survived by his siblings, Larry DeLong, Jean Trostle, Marie Gettel, Fern Ruth, Alberta Steffy, Eleanor Keller, and Linda Holland.
He is predeceased by his brothers, Mark, Russell, Bruce, Marvin, Adam, and Kenneth DeLong and a sister, Anna Bohr.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 26th at 11 AM in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville with Rev. Dr. Daniel Lute, pastor of St. Thomas Church, officiating.
A viewing will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until time of service in the funeral home.
Interment will be private at a later date at the convenience of the family.
