Milford A. Dunlap, Jr., also known as Tony or Sonny, 79, of Temple passed away Monday, August 10th at St. Joseph's Medical Center, Reading.
Milford was the son of the late Milford A. Dunlap, Sr., and Elsie (Miller) Dunlap
He is survived by wife, Patricia A. (Michalski) Dunlap; son, Michael A. Dunlap, of Temple; daughters, Michele L. Satz and husband Barry, and Kim Tracy Dunlap, both of Reading; brothers, David Dunlap and wife Tina, of Mesquite, TX, and Brian Dunlap and wife Regina, of Smyrna, TN; sisters, Eileen Lorah and husband Robert, of Birdsboro, Kathleen Dawson of Reading, Donna Quinter and husband Dan, of Alsace Twp, and Bernice Miller and husband Greg, of Blandon; sister-in-laws, Jean Dunlap of West Reading and Rose Dunlap of Temple; grandchildren, Jesse Dunlap, Philip Satz, and Kasey Kehler; and several nieces and nephews.
Milford is preceded in death by brothers, Donald and Darwin Dunlap; and sister, Sharon Kalke.
Mr. Dunlap was employed as a truck driver for Interstate Motor Freight System.
He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Reading, where he also served on the church council. Milford was also a member of Steward Local 724 Teamsters Union, Norristown from 1975 to 1981, President of Laureldale Senior Club, a volunteer on the Literacy Council of Berks County, a lifetime member of Temple Fire Company where he had also been a volunteer Fireman, active in the Senior Art Club at Goggle Works, and had volunteered more then 20 years with Meals on Wheels.
Among his hobbies he also enjoyed painting and all forms of art, boating on the Chesapeake with his family, and had a love of antique cars that he shared with his grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 15th at 10 AM in Milkins Giles Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple, PA 19560, with Pastor Thomas Irwin of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale, officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
