Mary Giles

Mary (Filak) Giles, 95, formerly of Temple, passed away Friday, November 3^rd in Rittenhouse Village at Muhlenberg.

Mary was married for fifty-three loving years to the late William A. Giles , Jr.,  who passed away November 29, 2003.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Filak, Sr. and Mary Josephine (Kosmerl) Filak.

Mary graduated from Reading High School in 1945 and The Reading Hospital School of Nursing in 1949 where she obtained her degree becoming a Registered Nurse.

Mary was an Office Nurse for Dr. E. Lee Keiser in Reading. She retired in 1987 as a Nursing Supervisor for The Reading Hospital. She was a life member of the Alumni Association of The Reading Hospital School of Nursing.

She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and word searches. She also was an avid reader.

Mary enjoyed vacationing at the Jersey Shore with her family.

Mary was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Laureldale.

Surviving is a son, William A. Giles, III and wife Jennifer Giles of Phoenix, AZ and a daughter, Susan E. (Giles) Fies and husband Scott Fies of Riverview Park.

There are three Grandchildren, Michael Giles and wife Natalie, Benjamin Giles and wife Rachelle, and Allison (Fies) Clark and husband Shawn Clark.

Also, there are three Great Grandchildren, Hunter and Elodie Giles and Chase Clark.

Mary is predeceased by seven Siblings, John, Anthony, Joseph, Willie, and Harry Filak, Pauline Miller, and Jennie Spaulding.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 11^th at 10:30 AM in the Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple with Reverend Lauren Wolfe Blatt officiating.

A viewing will be held on Saturday from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM in the funeral home.

Interment will follow the funeral service in Forest Hills Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Endowment Fund of Calvary Lutheran Church, 1009 Elizabeth Ave., Reading, PA 19605.
