Lloyd R. McQuate, Jr., 78, of Robesonia, passed away Saturday, October 10th at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Lloyd was the son of the late Lloyd R. McQuate and Margaret E. (Tobias) Blatt.
He is survived by wife, Ruth A. (Degler) McQuate of Robesonia; daughters, Bonnie R. Oberly and husband Michael of Lower Heidelberg Township, Candace R. Ruth and husband Peter of Robesonia, and Deborah E. McQuate-Lutz and husband Ronald of Maryland; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Yvonne Stoudt of Bernville and Joanne Fromm of Womelsdorf.
Lloyd is preceded in death by brother, Frederick E. McQuate.
Mr. McQuate had worked as a machinist with Textile Machine Works, which then become Rockwell International, and then Goss Graphics.
He was a member of St. Thomas Church, Bernville for many years. He also belonged to the VFW and Rod & Gun Club of Womelsdorf, Robesonia Fish and Game, and was a life member of Robesonia Fire Company. In his spare time he was an avid Nascar fan, participated with the Bernville Grange #1887, and had a love of automobiles.
Services will be held Thursday, October 15th from the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville, at 11am with the Pastor Bill Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Bern Church Cemetery, Leesport. A viewing will be held Thursday from 10am until time of service at the funeral home.
