Linda Mae "Squeak" (Souders) King 67 of Bern Township died Sunday afternoon in the Penn State St. Joseph's Medical Center. She was a very active and giving person in the community. She was the wife of Randy L. King.
"Squeak" was born in Reading, PA on September 19, 1948. She is the daughter of Jacob and Pearl (Esser) Souders of Muhlenberg Township.
Surviving in addition to her husband are the following children; Barry L. R. King of Hamburg; Brian H. King of Bern Township; and Valerie M. King of Lenhartsville.
Three grandchildren; Katie, Cheyanne, and Bobbie King. One great grandchild, Chance Kachel.
Mrs. King was a member Bern United Church of Christ.
She was, also, a member of the following organizations; Mt. Pleasant Ladies Auxiliary; Leesport Ladies Auxiliary; Shartlesville Ladies Auxiliary, Northkill Rod & Gun Club; Strausstown Rod & Gun Club; and the American Legion #19 of Laurel Delaware.
She was past president of the National Guard Ladies Auxiliary of Hamburg.
"Squeak" was a 1965 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.
Mrs. King retired in 2010 with twenty years of service from the Keystone Blood Bank where she was a recruiter/receptionist. Prior to that employment she was a secretary for twenty years at. Bern UCC Church. She was the private secretary to Reverend Roberts.
She was active clown ministry and could communicate sign language.
Funeral service from the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, Bernville on Thursday at 8:00 P.M. with Reverend Paul R. Cronin officiating. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
