Lillian J. (Zappacosta) Schlegel

Lillian J. Schlegel, 93, of Temple, passed away Monday evening in her home.
She was the wife of the late Harvey Schlegel, who passed away in 1972.
Born in Temple, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Carmella (Malandra) Zappacosta.
Lillian was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church.
She had been employed as a floor lady for Talbot Knitting Mill.
Surviving are her two children: Harvey R. Schlegel of Temple and Janet A., wife of James Lawfer, of North Carolina.
There are two grandchildren: Michael Greaser and Gina Gehman; and four great-granddaughters.
Also surviving is a sister, Viola Cucinotta of Mohnton as well as many nieces and nephews.
Lillian was predeceased by two brothers: William "Hickey" Zappacosta and Vincent Zappacosta; and two sisters: Josephine Burrell and Dorothy Breidegam.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 17 at 10:30 AM in Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 3121 Kutztown Rd., Reading, PA. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
Friends and family may attend a viewing Thursday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd. Temple, PA and Friday at 9:30 AM preceding a procession to the church.
