Lillian M. Brown, 80, of Temple, passed away Saturday November 15th in her residence.
She was married to Howard W. Brown. Lillian and Howard would have celebrated sixty two years of marriage in December.
Born in Bath, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Krnan) Duchodni.
She attended Mt. Penn High School until her senior year then moved to Chicago where she graduated from high school.
Lillian was a homemaker and a loving mother and dedicated her life to her family.
She was employed by the Berks Visiting Nurse Assoc.
Lillian was diagnosed very young with Parkinson's disease which she struggled with for many years.
She was very involved with her Church, Holy Guardian Angels RCC and Holy Guardian Angels School for many years. She was on the PTA at Muhlenberg and the woman's club at Holy Guardian Angels School.
She was the Brownie and Girl Scout leader in the Temple area .She organized so many bake sales in our community to support the school and charitable organizations. She was very involved with her community. Lillian had a love for animals; she will be dearly missed by her dog Emit. She was a devoted Catholic and she exemplified her Christian beliefs in her actions in her daily life.
She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, friend and neighbor. Lillian always supported her children and grandchildren in sporting events, spelling bees, readings at mass, concerts, plays etc. A very positive role model with exceptionally high morals was always displayed for her children, grandchildren and the neighbor children, with whom she influenced their lives and has touched them in so many ways. She was a very intelligent woman who spent most of her time reading books and the newspaper every day. In spite of Lillian not being able to walk for many years and her life struggles with Parkinson's disease she always had a smile for everyone.
Remembering one statement she made throughout her life "Everyone standing in line at your funeral will not be conversing about what type of house you lived in or what class of automobile you had but they will be talking about how you lived your life and the difference you made in this world" Lillian Brown has lived her life by her very own statement and precisely made a difference on this earth. Lillian will be missed but never forgotten.
Additional survivors include her children, Robert H. Brown and wife Tracie M. of Exeter Twp., Richard J. Brown of Muhlenberg Twp., Judith M., wife of Zachary J. Leas of Muhlenberg Twp., Janice J. Brown of Ontelaunee Twp., and Randall J. Brown of Sinking Spring.
There are six grandchildren, Zachary J. Leas, Alyssa M. Brown, Andrew P. Brown, Breanne E. Brown, Dustin M. Brown, and Tyler J. Brown.
She is predeceased by a son, Paul J. Brown and a grandson, Dylan J. Brown who passed away July 2008.
Also, she is predeceased by two brothers, Ernest Duchodni and survived by his wife Verna also William Duchodni,
and survived by his wife Cathi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday November 22nd at 9 am in Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 3121 Kutztown Rd., (Hyde Park) Reading, PA with interment to follow in Grandview Cemetery in Allentown.
There will be a viewing on Friday evening from 7 until 8:30 pm in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple. There will not be a public viewing on Saturday morning.
