June B. (Gambler) Boyer, 84, passed away January 18, 2015 in her home in Muhlenberg Township, with her loving son by her side.
Born in Temple, she was the daughter of the late Charles Gambler, Sr. and Annora (Kaucher) Gambler. . June was a 1949 graduate of Muhlenberg Township High School.
She enjoyed camping, visiting Delaware on the weekends, going to casinos, and playing bingo.
June worked for Ludens/Hershey for 25 years as a machine operator, retiring in 1992. She was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church of Rockland Township.
June is survived by daughters, Carol J. Wagner, wife of Daniel Wagner of Reading, and Sue Weaver, wife of Edwin Weaver, Temple; son, Keith E. Boyer, with whom she had resided; brother, Charles F. Gambler, Jr. of Reading; Granddaughter, Stephanie (Weaver) Sgherza, wife of Joe Sgherza of Ontelaunee Township; a great-grandson, Ben Sgherza, who was her pride and joy and with who she greatly enjoyed spending time; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 22, at 1pm from the New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 27 Lyons Road, Rockland Township, with the Rev. Keith Rohrbach officiating. A viewing will be held from 12 noon until time of service at the church that day. In addition, an evening viewing will take place Wednesday, January 21, from 7 to 8:30 pm from the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Road, Temple.
