John H. Turner

June 23, 1938 — October 15, 2014

John H. Turner, Sr., 76, devoted husband and father, of Penn Twp., passed away Wednesday October 15th in his residence of natural causes.

John was married 26 years to Marianne (Sirico) Turner.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, son of the late Henry and Bertha (Hoer) Turner.

In Boy Scouts, he earned his Eagle Scout. He served honorably in the US Army.

He received his PhD from CUNY, City University of New York.

John was employed many years as a manager for Exxon Corp. in N. J. He was a Professor at Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, Seton Hall University, and Fairleigh Dickinson University in the MBA program. He enjoyed a long career as Professor in the school of business at Montclair State University. For many years, he was also a consultant / guest speaker for the U. S. Office of Personnel Management.

John authored several books and co-authored the book and tape series, "The One Day MBA".

He was an avid traveler, journeying throughout the world. John had a love for history, bird watching, and the Jersey Shore. He was a car enthusiast, owning numerous automobiles and enjoying car shows with his two sons.

He formerly attended Friedens Lutheran Church in Bernville.

Surviving with his wife Marianne, are two sons, John Henry Turner, Jr. and Douglas James Turner both of Penn Twp and his sister, Marilyn, wife of Herb Mocksfield of VA.
John is predeceased by a sister, Joan Lorme and Aunt, Julia Hoer.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.

Church Service is October 26, 2014 at 12:30 PM at Covenant Church, 1201 Yerger Blvd, Sinking Spring 19608. Interment is October 27, 2014 at 11:30 AM at Indian Town Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA 17003.
