JoAnn C. (Kutzamanis) Thompson
March 19, 1942 — July 8, 2014
JoAnn C. Thompson, 72, of Exeter Township died unexpectedly July 8, 2014, at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
Born in West Reading on March 19, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Steven J. and Anna C. (Newmoyer) Kutzamanis. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack F. Thompson, in 2002, after 32 years of marriage.
A 1960 graduate of Muhlenberg High School, JoAnn worked at Carpenter Technology before becoming secretary to Lindy Vicari at the Reading Fairgrounds racetrack. It was there she met her husband, Jack, who served as tow truck chief.
JoAnn is survived by her two loving children, Michelle L., of Exeter Township, and Brian S., husband of Laura (Eckert), of Mount Joy; and her beloved brother, John S. Kutzamanis, husband of Judith (Turnbull), of Muhlenberg Township. There is also her é�a�A"grand-dog,é�a�� Einstein, and a large extended family who loved her deeply. She was the glue that bound the whole lot of them.
JoAnn greatly enjoyed the companionship of a group of friends called the é�a�A"Silver Belles,é�a�� some of whom sheé�a�a��d known since childhood. They played cards monthly, visited casinos, vacationed together and just generally had good times wherever they went. She is remembered as a fun, enduring friend.
Family and friends may call Saturday, July 12, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple with a service to follow at noon.
Graveside services will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15th in Gethsemane Cemeteryé�a�a��s Chapel of the Resurrection, Laureldale, PA with burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League, P.O. Box 69, Mohnton, PA, 19540, or the Humane Society, 1801 N. 11th St., Reading, PA, 19604.
