Jean A. (Moll) Luckenbill

Bernville

Jean A. Luckenbill, 81, of Jefferson Township, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Christmas Day, Friday, December 25, 2020, at the Reading Hospital.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Chester J. Luckenbill.  They were married on October 3, 1959, and celebrated fifty-eight years of marriage.

Born in Windsor Township, she was the daughter of the late David R. Moll and Katie A. (Bower) Moll.

She was a 1957 graduate of Hamburg High School.

Jean was employed as manager of Way-Har Farms Dairy Store for 15 years, and then the Tulpehocken Area School District as Guidance Secretary, retiring after 20 years of service.

She was a member of St. Thomas Church where she was an active member of the Women’s Guild and Sunday School.  She was a member of Virginville Grange for 67 years and Bernville Young at Heart.

Jean will be remembered as a loving, caring, and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and lived to see the birth of her first great-grandchild.  She treasured her time with her granddaughters.  She loved cooking family dinners, quilting, canning, and baking for others including her famous sugar cookies.

She is survived by three loving children, Jeffrey D., Brian P., husband of Nancy L. (Good), and Kathy J., all of Jefferson Township; two granddaughters, Kirstin L., wife of Adam B. Rabenold, of Mohrsville, and Courtney S., of Jefferson Township; and one great-grandson, Owen B. Rabenold.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by three siblings: David S. Moll, Esther K. Stitzel, and infant brother Lloyd D. Moll

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life service to honor Jean will be held at a later date.
