Jay Clarence Becker, 78, of Blandon, passed away Thursday, November 16th in his residence.
Jay was married for fifty years to Sharen (Rothenberger) Becker.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Clarence and Kathryn (Delp) Becker.
Jay was a member of Maidencreek Church in Blandon.
Jay served his country in the Army for four years.
Jay was employed for over thirty years for Hopper Paper Co. which became Georgia Pacific then became Sealed Air located in Reading.
He was then employed part time for Rich Maiden Golf Course.
Jay really enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and was a member of the Blandon Hunting Camp in Tioga Co.
Jay was a member of the V. F. W. in Fleetwood, and the Blandon and Alsace Manor Fire Companies. He formerly served with the Fire Police at the Blandon Fire Co.
Jay was an avid Phillies, Eagles, and Penn State fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. He was a huge Jeff Gordon fan.
Additional survivors include Jay's children, Wayne L. Becker and wife Wendy and Kevin J. Becker and wife Annette both of Blandon, Allen Becker of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., and Tina Heckman of Reading.
Also, Jay's grandchildren, Wayne L. Becker, Jr. and spouse Alexis Jenofsky, Tyler W. Becker, Kevin C. Becker, James and Patrick Heckman, Donald Symons, Jr., and Stephen Swaverly.
There are his step grandchildren, Michael Kauffman and wife Jennifer and Sean Donovan and fiancée Charissa Soja.
Also, Jay's great grandchildren, Lainee Guldner, Kayson Becker, and Reily Nonnemacher and six additional great grandchildren.
There are three step great grandchildren, Blake Kauffman, and Keira and Alisa Donovan.
Jay is also survived by his mother in law Viola (Burkey) Rothenberger widow of Wayne Rothenberger, a sister in law, Raydell Stufflet wife of Brendle Stufflet, and a nephew, Brendle Stufflet.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 21st at 7 pm in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple with Pastor Sara Hertzog officiating.
A viewing will take place on Tuesday evening from 5:30 pm until time of service in the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
