Janet M. Hartranft, 78, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of Pottstown, passed away Thursday, April 18th in Lancaster General Hospital.
She was married to the late John R. "Jack" Hartranft who passed away April 29, 2012.
Born in Douglassville, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Leah (Yocom) DeTurck.
She was a self employed hairdresser in her residence in Pottstown for many years.
She was a member of Pikeville Sportsman Assoc. and enjoyed gardening, boating, and fishing.
Surviving are two children, Tina Marie Hartranft of Pottstown and Jennifer Lynn Hartranft of Marietta, PA.
There are three grandchildren, John Russell Hartranft III and wife Sara of West Chester, Staff Sgt. Jessica Kay Hartranft Lindquist, wife of Staff Sgt. Shane Lindquist of Fort Bragg, NC, and Mallory McNear of Gilbertsville.
Also, two great grandchildren, Ryan Stephen Lindquist of Fort Bragg, NC and Caedynce Lindquist of Ohio.
She had twelve siblings, Elizabeth Jean, wife of Walter Hessinger of Downingtown, Esther, widow of Russell Guinther of Boyertown, George, widower of Helen DeTurck of Fleetwood, Dorothy, widow of Harold Herbein of Reading, Morris, widower of Betty DeTurck of Boyertown, Shirley, wife of Jacob Everett McAfee, Eleanor, widow of Harry Swoyer, and Carol, wife of Rodney Lott all of Birdsboro. She was predeceased by siblings, Teressa, wife of John Loeb, Leah DeTurck, Benjamin, husband of Shirley DeTurck, and Samuel DeTurck.
There are several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be Saturday May 25th at Noon in the Mausoleum Chapel in Highland Memorial Park, Reynolds and Farmington Ave., Pottstown, PA. Interment will follow the service.
