Jane E. (Ellis) Stief

Jane E. (Ellis) Stief, 81, of Bernville, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022 in the Reading Hospital.

Born on October 27, 1941, she was a daughter to the late Ritchie J. and the late Lois J. (Everett) Ellis. She was the wife of the late Paul R. Stief who passed away July 18, 2016.

Jane was a 1959 graduate of Perry High and later was employed by Reading Hospital from 1976 until her retirement in 2006. She was a member and past Matron with the Eastern Star in Hamburg, Blue Mountain Chapter #443 for many years.

Jane is survived by her children Paul E. Stief, Lisa A. Dell, Diane R. Schlenker, wife of Paul R., and Steven R. Stief, fiancé of Brenda Lee Gilbert all of Bernville. Also surviving are grandchildren Jacob, Jessica, wife of Alex, Joshua, husband of Christina and Alvin, fiancé of Jackie and two great grandchildren, Katanya Rae and Nora Presley and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Jane was predeceased by one sister, Grace R. (Ellis) Peters.

A viewing will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 from 9:00 am – 10:00 am with a memorial service beginning at 10:00 am in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main Street, Bernville.

A burial will take place in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring.
