James L. "Jim" Koch

December 13, 1948 — July 9, 2017

James L. "Jim" Koch, 68, of Jefferson Township, passed away suddenly Sunday afternoon, July 9th in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center.

Jim was married for twenty years to Wanda M. (Meyers) Peles Koch.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Harvey Koch and Gloria (Hoy) Koch.

Jim was a 1967 graduate of Reading High School and enjoyed watching and attending Reading High Basketball.

Jim was a tile fitter for twenty years for Clover Farms Dairy, retiring in 2015.

Jim was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Bern Twp. where he volunteered in various positions, including church treasurer, sound technician, and assisted in various construction projects on mission trips.

Jim enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a Phillies and Flyers fan.

Surviving along with his loving wife Wanda are two sons, Eric Koch and wife Nou Koch of Wernersville and Andrew Koch and wife Kelly Koch of Tucson AZ.

There are three grandchildren, Enzie, Jade, and Zane Koch.

Also, three siblings, Tim Koch and wife Bonnie Koch of Greenfields, Sharon Dengler, widow of James of West Hamburg, and Margaret Walker of Sinking Spring.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 13th at Noon in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville with Pastor John Conover officiating.

A viewing will be held on Thursday from 10 am until time of service in the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Twp.
