Howard W. Brown, 84 of Temple died Friday morning in the Penn State St. Joseph's Medical Center where he had been a patient for the past month. He was the widower of Lillian M. (Duchodni) Brown, who died November 15, 2014. They had shared a loving marriage of sixty-one years. Howard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather that went above and beyond for his wife, children and grandchildren. Howard took pleasure in supporting and honoring his grandchildren in sporting events and their academic success and many other activities. Howard enjoyed bowling, playing fast pitch softball, hunting, golfing, and watching Nascar. Howard enjoyed being part of the Temple Fire Company bowling team. In which he shared a great friendship with his bowling teammates. Howard's beloved dog "Emit" will miss him dearly. Howard considered "Emit" his buddy and best friend.
Howard was born in Kenhorst on February 26, 1932. He was the son of the late Howard and Catherine (Kline) Brown.
Surviving are three sons; Robert H. husband of Marie T. Brown of Exeter Township, Richard J. Brown of Temple, and Randall J. Brown of Sinking Spring. Two daughters; Judith M. wife of Zachary J. Leas of Temple, and Janice J. Brown of Ontelaunee Township. Six grandchildren; Zachary J. Leas fiancée of Julie K. Wood, Alyssa M. Brown, Andrew P. Brown, Breanne E. Brown, Dustin M. Brown, and Tyler J. Brown..
Howard was predeceased by a Son, Paul J. Brown, who passed away in 1956 and
he was predeceased by a grandson, Dylan J. Brown, who passed away July 2008.
Mr. Brown was a lifetime member and past trustee of the Temple Fire Company #1. He was past scout master of Hyde Park scout post 161. Howard was a member of the Democratic Club of Temple.
Howard retired in 1989, with thirty-five years of service from the former NGK Metals.
A viewing will take place on Tuesday evening 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc. Temple.
Graveside services in Grandview Cemetery, Allentown, on Thursday at 11:15 A.M.
A funeral procession will leave the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., Temple at 10:15 am on Thursday to proceed to the cemetery.
