Harold C. Marbarger Jr

January 12, 1931 — April 20, 2014

Harold C. Marbarger, Jr., 83, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, of Hyde Park, Muhlenberg Twp. passed away April 20th in Reading Hospital.

He was married to Betty Lou (Meck) Marbarger. Harold and Betty Lou celebrated fifty eight years of marriage.

Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Harold C. Marbarger, Sr. and Dorothy (Sturm) Marbarger.

He was a service technician of business equipment throughout his career finishing his working career with Berks County Intermediate Unit. In his retirement he continued enjoying the challenge serving people with his knowledge and expertise as he was needed

He was a member of Rosedale United Church of Christ in Laureldale where he was a former consistory member. He was a active volunteer in many aspects of the church.

He served in the Marines.

His began an early lifelong passion with his love of horses which continued through life breaking, training, and riding western horses.

His other lifelong passion was repairing automobiles.

He was an avid hunter starting at a young age with his father and continuing through his life.

Harold touched many lives and was very accomplished in the fine art of conversation, fondly know to his family and friends as "Jitter".

Surviving with his wife Betty Lou are his children, Debra L. Marbarger, wife of John W. Kemmerling of Robeson Twp., Jody Marie Paolino, wife of Dr. Robert Paolino of Malvern, and Craig Harold Marbarger of Maidencreek Twp.

There are three grandchildren, Colette A. Kemmerling and Christopher R. and Rachael L. Paolino.

Also, his siblings, James Marbarger and Marie Adam both of Riverview Park, Mary Jane Carley of Shillington, and Margie Ernst of Laureldale.

He is predeceased by a sister, Margaret Oxenreider.

Funeral services will be Saturday April 26th at 10:30 am in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple with Rev. Robert Aregood officiating. Interment will follow in Laureldale Cemetery. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 until 8 pm and Saturday morning from 9:30 am until time of service.
