Hafez Elias Naddour, 77, of Reading passed away Friday night at Reading Hospital Tower Health with his family at his side. He was the husband of Dorothy (Opp) Landes Naddour, with whom he shared 18 years of loving marriage.
Born in 1941 in Miklas, Syria, Hafez was a son of the late Elias and Farida (Alaji) Naddour.
In addition to his wife, Hafez is survived by his children, George Naddour husband of Carolyn Naddour, Huda Naddour wife of Samir Sleaybe, Rawa Naddour wife of Simon Abaje, Amal Naddour wife of Joseph Kokajyan, and Salwa Sleaybe wife of Hassan Sleaybe; and his step children Jonathan Landes husband of Jennifer of Reading and Sarah Landes-Hanks of Reading.
In addition to his children and step-children, Hafez is also survived by his 11 grandchildren and 8 step-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his son Elias Naddour who passed in 2012.
In the words of one of his granddaughters, Hafez loved God very much, and he was a devout member of the Greek Orthodox faith.
For over thirty years Hafez served in the Syrian Air Force until his retirement in 1991.
In 2006, Hafez was proud to become a citizen of the United States of America.
He worked as an overnight stocker at the Walmart of Temple for five years.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren to whom he was their beloved Pop pop.
On weekends he and Dorothy would set up shop at area flea markets where Hafez would deal in antique dishware, jewelry, and old-fashioned keys.
Services for Hafez will be private.
