Glenn D. Fox, 73, of Bernville, passed away Tuesday, January 10th in the Reading Hospital.
Glenn was married to Evelyn F. (Balthaser) Fox. Glenn and Evelyn were married May 16, 1964 and celebrated fifty two years of marriage.
Born in Jefferson Twp., he was the son of the late Ammon Fox, Sr. and Suie A. (Long) Fox.
Glenn graduated from the former Penn-Bernville High School Class of 1961.
He was formerly employed by Textile Machine Works, Elge Spark Wheel Co., and Brandt's Pattern Shop.
He retired from Dana Corporation as a department supervisor following twenty three and a half years of service.
Glenn served six years in the U. S. Army Reserve Corp of Engineers. He was a member of American Legion Carl Anspach Post #732, Bernville.
He served as chairman of the Penn Twp. Board of supervisors for many years and was formerly a member of the Penn Twp. Planning Commission.
He was formerly a Cub Scout Master for six years of Troop #422.
He was a life-long member of St. Thomas Church in Bernville where he served as an elder and President of Consistory. He occasionally taught the Adult Sunday School at St. Thomas Church.
He also formerly served as a deacon and a member of consistory at Christ Little Tulpehocken Church.
He served many years on the St. Thomas Cemetery Board, most recently as President. He also served as Trustee on the Berks Co. Cemetery Board.
He was a member of Williamson Lodge #307 F&AM in Womelsdorf, the Rajah Shrine, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Reading.
He was a member of Bernville Young at Heart.
Additional survivors include two sons, James D. Fox and fiancé Tracy Kohler of Penn Twp. And Jeremy D. Fox of Austin TX.
Also, a sister, Carol Degler, widow of Stanley Degler and Sandra J. Fox
both of Bernville.
He was predeceased by a brother, Ammon D. Fox, Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 14th at 11 am in St. Thomas Church, 536 N. Main St., Bernville with Rev. Roderick Sutliff and Pastor Rev. Dr. Daniel Lute officiating.
A viewing will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30 am until time of service in St. Thomas Church.
Masonic services will be performed by Willaimson Lodge #307, F&AM, Womelsdorf, on Saturday morning at 11 am.
Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery in Bernville.
