Gladys M. Stout, 93, of Reading, passed away Saturday May 4th in Manor Care Health Services in Laureldale.
Gladys was predeceased by her loving husband Russell C. Stout.
Born in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Edwin J. and Lula Mae (Swint) Sandow.
She was a career housewife and mother who loved spending time with her family and friends. Gladys was very generous to those she loved, forgave everything and always found a place at her table for everyone. She was known for her stylish dress and trademark red hair. She loved Coca Colas, animals, and the Philadelphia Phillies.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Reading.
Surviving is one daughter, Susan M., wife of David J. Cocuzza of Laureldale and one son, Edwin J, Westley, husband of Rebecca of Aspers, PA.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara A. Zelano who passed away January 8, 2001.
There are five grandchildren, Robert J. Zelano, Victoria M. (Zelano) Ambrose, Anthony M. Zelano, Vanessa (Westley) Balek, and L. Allison (Westley) Warner. Also, nine great grandchildren.
There is one sister, Alma M., wife of Sam Noll of West Lawn.
She is also survived by her best friend Sigrid Still of Reading.
Funeral services will be Thursday May 9th at 11 AM in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc. 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Twp. Family and friends may call Thursday from 10 AM until time of service in the funeral home.
