Franklin "Dint" Rickenbach 98 formerly of Kutztown Road, Temple died Friday at Manor Care Laureldale. He was the widower of Jean L. (Reifsnyder) Rickenbach, who died April 15, 2013. They had shared a marriage of 67 ½ years.
Frank was born in Temple on October 26, 1916. He was the son of the late Frank and Ella (Bertolet) Rickenbach.
Surviving is a son, Thomas R. husband of Linda Rickenbach of Hampton, N.H.
Three grandchildren; Brett husband of Allison Rickenbach, Ryan husband of Kelly Rickenbach, and Randy Rickenbach. Also, a great grandson, Brady Rickenbach.
Two brothers, Jesse and Bert Rickenbach, predeceased him.
Mr. Richenbach was a member of Trinity Bible Fellowship Church, 220 Main Street, P.O. Box 739, Blandon, PA 19510.
He was, also, a life member of the Temple Fire Company; and a member of the Blandon Fire Company.
"Dint" enjoyed Reading Phillie's baseball attending the opening and closing games each year for the past sixty-three years.
Frank graduated in 1934 from Girard College.
Mr. Rickenbach served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Bombardiers 464th Bomb Group 777th Bomb Squadron European Theater of Operations. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Presidential Citation.
Frank retired in 1975 as a messenger of the former Meridian Bank, Reading.
Prior to that he was a driver/salesman for thirty years for Coca Cola Bottling Company of Reading.
Funeral services from Trinity Bible Fellowship Church, Blandon on Thursday at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Carl Fisher officiating. Interment in Maidencreek Cemetery
Family will receive friends at the church on Thursday 9:30 A.M. until time of services.
