Frank C. Henderson

Frank C. Henderson, 87, of Penn Twp., passed away Saturday, August 30th, 2014 in his home.

He was the husband of Audrey J. (Sayer) Henderson. Frank and Audrey were married May 2, 1947.

Born in Dunmore, PA, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Hazel (Haut) Henderson.

He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII.

Frank graduated from Moscow High School in Moscow, PA. He earned a BS in physical education from East Stroudsburg State College. He furthered his education to become a Physical Therapist at the University of Pennsylvania, preceding his 41 year career.

Frank taught at Reading Business Institute and worked at Community General Hospital, Berks Heim, Hassler Home, Bernville Clinic, private practice in Kutztown, and private practice from 1979-1993 in West Wyomissing, after which he retired.

He was a member of Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church, Leesport.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with family, gardening, sports, the stock market, the Reading Symphony, and crossword puzzles.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children: Connie, wife of Dennis Lorah, of Port Matilda, PA; Stephen Henderson, husband of Rowena, of Bernville; Alan Henderson, husband of Mimi, of Tobyhanna, PA; and Craig Henderson, husband of Vicki, of Myerstown.

There are 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Also surviving is a sister, Jean Mecca, of Moscow, PA.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family with Pastor Peter Richert officiating and interment in St. Thomas Cemetery, Bernville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, Bernville.
