Felicita Quinones, a beloved member of the community, peacefully passed away on the 13th of August, 2024 at The Gardens at West Shore. She was born in Puerto Rico on the 20th of November, 1937, she was a daughter to the late Angel and Emilia (Torrez) Perez. Felicita led a fulfilling life dedicated to her work and family, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Felicita was known for her dedication and passion while working at Sweet Street Bakery. Her commitment and hard work left a lasting on those she worked with and served.
Felicita's love for her community extended beyond her professional life. She was a past member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Reading, where she found solace and joy in her faith.
A respectful woman, Felicita will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her children: Guillermo Mercado (husband of Tina), Carlos Mercado (husband of Lisa), Maribel Ziegler (wife of Lawrence D. Ziegler, Jr.), and Stephen Mercado. She was also a loving grandmother to 40 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Felicita is also survived by her sister, Haydee Bentacourt.
In remembrance of Felicita, we also honor the memory of her deceased loved ones. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Guillermo Mercado, and her second husband, George Quinones. She also mourned the loss of her sons, Israel Mercado and Franklin Mercado, and siblings: Angelia Ortiz, Gonzala Gonzala, Ismael Perez, and Miguel Perez.
Services to celebrate the life of Felicita Quinones will be held on the 20th of August, 2024. A viewing will take place from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Road, Temple, PA 19560, followed by a graveside service at 2:30 PM at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605
Felicita Quinones will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering love for her family. May she rest in peace, knowing that her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
