Fay B. (Ney) Showers

Fay B. (Ney) Showers, 93, of Bernville passed away Tuesday, November 28^th shortly after entering hospice care at Tower Health, Reading Hospital.

Fay was married for sixty-four years to her beloved husband the late Doyle L. Showers.

Born in West Brunswick, Twp., Schuylkill County, she was the daughter of the late Yen B. and Ellen E. (Boyer) Ney.

Survivors include two sons: Kenneth D. Showers, husband of Vicki (Hollenbach) Showers of Penn Twp. and Todd S. Showers of State College. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Cara wife of Wayne Kramer of Womelsdorf and Erin, wife of Jorge Velazquez of West Wyomissing.

There are two great-grandsons, Jordan and Erik and a great great granddaughter, ZoeJane.

Also, she is survived by a sister, Benita B. Wagner, wife of Arlan Wagner.

She was predeceased by a brother, Daniel L. Ney.

Fay graduated from Hamburg High School in 1948.

Fay was an avid swimmer and volunteered at the Western Berks Pool in Bernville as a lifeguard and Red Cross Water Safety Instructor for many years, teaching many local children to swim. She loved to garden and shared Doyle’s interest in genealogy.

She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Friedens Church in Bernville.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
