Eugene R. Malandra

Eugene R. Malandra, 82, passed away in his residence in Bern Twp., with his loving family by his side, on Friday January 24th.

He was married to Nancy Lee (Eckroth) Malandra. Eugene and Nancy were married for sixty years.

Born in Temple, he was the son of the late Massimo Malandra and Philomena (DeAngelo) Malandra.

He was employed as a welder for the former Parish Division, Dana Corp. for 31 1/2 years retiring in 1984.

He was a member of Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bern Twp.

He was formerly a member of North Heidelberg UCC where he was past president and an elder on consistory.

He served in the Army during the Korean War.

He was a life member of the Temple Fire Co., and the Marion Rod & Gun Club where he was also past president.

He enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving with his wife Nancy is a son, Michael G. Malandra, husband of Eileen of Bernville.

There are two sisters, Mildred, wife of James Lang of Wernersville and Janice Solomon of Columbia, Maryland.

He is predeceased by his siblings, Levina Weiser, Anna Wink, Lucy Marmontello, Evelyn Smith, Gilda Spiers, and Alfred and Armond Malandra.

Funeral services will be Wednesday January 29th at 10:30 am in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville with Rev. David Roper officiating. Interment will be in North Heidelberg Church Cemetery. Family and friends may attend a viewing on Tuesday evening from 6:30 until 8 pm and Wednesday morning from 9:30 am until time of service in the funeral home.
