Esther M. Kieffer

Esther M. Kieffer, 83, of Bethel, Tulpehocken Twp., passed away Friday October 10th in the Reading Hospital.

She was married to the late Lawrence W. Kieffer who passed away March 19, 1997.

Born in Centre Twp., she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Sallie (Kauffman) Bagenstose.

She was a 1949 graduate of Hamburg High School and was a retired dairy farmers wife.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Rehrersburg where she was the former financial secretary and a member of the Mite Society.

Esther was a member of the Berks Co. Farm Bureau, Treasurer of Dairy of Distinction (Regional), and former Judge of Elections for Tulpehocken Twp.

Surviving are her children, Deborah S., wife of Arlan Davis of West Lawn, Ralph A. Kieffer, husband of Nancy of Bethel, Mark A. Kieffer, husband of Debra of Tulpehocken Twp., and Daniel J. Kieffer of Tulpehocken Twp.
There are five granddaughters and three grandsons. Also, five great grandsons and eleven great granddaughters.

She was predeceased by eight sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 14th a noon in Trinity United Church of Christ, 27 Maria St., Rehrersburg, PA 19550 with Pastor Louis Vetri officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Union Cemetery in Rehrersburg.

A viewing will be held on Monday evening from 7 until 9 pm in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville and Tuesday morning from 11 am until time of service in Trinity UCC.
