Erma (Yenser) Kirkhoff

Erma M. Kirkhoff , 89, of Wernersville, PA, formerly of Leesport, PA passed away Tuesday, April 7th at the Phoebe Berks Health Care Center with her family at her side.
She was the widow of Richard D. Kirkhoff who predeceased her on August 8, 2003. They were married on December 23, 1944.
Erma was born in Shoemakersville, PA, a daughter of the late Kathryn (Piersol) and George Yenser.
She was a member of Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church, Leesport, PA and served as President of the Lutheran Women at Bern Church.
She was employed by the former Diener Knitting Mills and Wright Knitting Mills in Leesport, PA.
She was a life member of the Auxiliary Women of the Topton Lutheran Home.
She was a former member of the Shoemakersville Senior Citizens and their Jolly Boombas.
She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them.
She is survived by two daughters: Jane, wife of Ronald Limpus, of Sinking Spring and Linda, wife of Ronald Mark, of Hummelstown, PA. Erma was preceded in death by a son, Robert Kirkhoff, sister, Evelyn Henne, and brothers, Oliver and George Yenser.
There are five grandchildren: Sherry Moyer, Todd Mark, Troy Mark, Laine Kirkhoff and Elyse Kirkhoff. In addition there are five great-grandchildren: Matthew Moyer, Emily Moyer, Kaitlyn Mark, Joshua Mark and Aiden Mark. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Suzanne Kirkhoff Morgan.
Erma loved to quilt and crochet and recently became an avid reader in the last years of her life.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11am from Bern Lutheran Evangelical Church, 820 W Leesport Rd., Leesport with the Rev. David Roper officiating. Interment will follow in Bern Cemetery. A viewing will be held in the church from 10am until time of service.
