Edward W. Gearhart

Edward W. Gearhart, 87, formerly of Leesport, passed away Sunday, April 26th at Manor Care Sinking Springs where he had resided for the last 10 years.
Born in Leesport, he is the son of the late Edward C and Elmedia F. (Bucks) Gearhart.
He was employed by Exide Corp of Muhlenberg Township for 38 years as a fork lift operator.
Edward proudly served his country in the Navy Reserves. Mr. Gearhart was also a member and supporter of the Leesport Fire Company.
Surviving is his son, Thomas M. Gearhart and wife Maggie, of Boyertown; daughter, Sherry L. Van Horn and husband Scott, of Mertztown; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Edward is preceded in death by his wife, Marie A. (Lang) Gearhart, who passed away April 29, 2005.
A service will be held Monday, May 4th at 11:00 am from the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Road, Temple. The Rev. Rich Green will officiate. Interment will follow in Gernants Church Cemetery, Leesport. Viewing will be held at 10 until time of service at the funeral home.
