Edith M. Joachim, 83, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away Wednesday August 30th in Penn State St. Joseph Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Edith was married to the late Richard J. Joachim who passed away September 19, 2014. Edith and Richard were married sixty two years.
Born in Brooklyn NY, she was the daughter of the late William Robinson and Margaret (Martin) Robinson Dolan. Edith was the step daughter of John L. Dolan.
Edith was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church in Hyde Park.
Edith was primarily a homemaker. She also was a substitute and taught at local parochial schools.
Edith enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and doing crafts.
Edith was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Surviving are Edith's children, Dyanne M. Galavage, widow of Michael Galavage of Muhlenberg Twp., Joann A. Peters, wife of Brian Peters of Wernersville, Denise M. Snyder, wife of Peter Snyder of Slatington, and a son Richard J. Joachim.
There are nine grandchildren, Michael Berkel and wife Ashley, Laura Berkel, Nathan Peters, Ryan and Lindsey Galavage, Ian and Peter Snyder, and Steven and Lisa Joachim.
There are two great grandchildren, Elizabeth Berkel and Kennedy Kozub.
There is one brother, Daniel Dolan.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 7th at 10:30 am in Gethsemane Cemetery Chapel of Resurrection, 3139 Kutztown Rd., Reading, PA 19605.
Interment will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Lebanon County.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berks Women In Crisis, 255 Chestnut St., Reading, PA.
The Milkins Giles Funeral Home in Temple is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
