Doris Mary Lloyd Sheeder, 89, died peacefully the morning of 12/30 at her home in Wyncote, PA. Her last days were filled with visitors, music and loving conversations.

Doris graduated with Honors from Reading High School in 1944, gained her Registered Nursing degree from St. Joseph's Hospital in 1946, and was a practicing R.N. there for several years. In later years, when not raising her four children, Doris worked seasonally managing an income tax agency and taught Contract Bridge at various outlets.
Doris was very active in the American Contract Bridge League. She was a double life master, teacher, director and member in the Berks County Hall of Fame. She played a minimum of 3 days a week for over 30 years.
Doris was innately talented - always embroidering, painting and making clothing or afghans to give away. She had a deep appreciation for ancestral antiques and passing on family traditions. Doris loved to read and travel and enjoyed the outdoors where she spent many weekends camping with the family.
She was most passionate about cooking and entertaining family and friends and was very generous of heart and hand. Wherever she lived, she became the local "mom" with neighbors of all ages coming to her doorstep for tea, lunch and a sympathetic ear. No one left empty-handed. Doris was a life-long Catholic and donated her time and money to many causes. She was the eternal optimist and grateful 'til the end.
