Doris Anne Schlappich

Doris Anne (Krause) Schlappich, 86 of Leesport, passed away on August 27, 2023 in the Reading Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born on November 7, 1936, she was a daughter to the late Ray P. and Anne (Unger) Krause. Doris was the wife of the late Herbert Schlappich with whom she shared 31 years of marriage at his time of passing in 1986.

Doris was an active member of Bern Lutheran Church and also the Senior Berners. Above all, Doris loved spending time with her family and grandchildren any chance she could.

Doris is survived by her sons, Randall S. Schlappich, husband of Bonnie, and Darryl Schlappich. Also surviving are granddaughters Courtney and Kiley Schlappich and one sister-in- law- Phylis Krause.

In addition to her parents and husband, Doris is predeceased by her siblings, Carolyn Hettinger, wife of the late Norman Hettinger, Jean Burkey, wife of the late John Burkey, and Walter Krause, husband of Phylis Krause.

A viewing will be held Friday, September 1, 2023, from 10: 00 am – 11:00 am with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 am in the Milkins Trymbiski Funeral Home, 4914 Kutztown Road, Temple.

A burial will take place in Bern Cemetery, Leesport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Doris’ name may be made to the Bern Lutheran Church, 820 W. Leesport Road, Leesport, Pa 19533.
