Donald G. "Dicker" Shappell

Donald G. "Dicker" Shappell, 85, formerly of Shoemakersville, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 at ManorCare in Laureldale.
Born in Shoemakersville, he was the son of the late Melvin A. and Edna S. (Hieter) Shappell.
Donald was employed by Carpenter Steel as a pulpit operator for 38 1/2 years, retiring in 1987.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Perry Gun Club.
Survivors include the Kieffer family and three nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Ernie and Carl Shappell.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family with interment in Salem Shalter's Church Cemetery, Alsace Twp.
The Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
