Donald A. Batz, 74, of Bernville, passed away Thursday, October 12th at his home. He was the husband of Rickia (Weller) Batz and was married to his lovely bride for 55 years.
Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Roy and Marion (Long) Batz.
Donald was employed for 30 years at Dana Parish Division, of Reading, retiring in 1998. He was the Bernville Wastewater Treatment plant operator for 14 years and was the small business owner of D.A.B. Light Hauling for 12 years. He enjoyed singing along to oldies and country music, and DJ’d for a few years known as “Blast from the Past”. He also enjoyed playing cards and was part of the Mid-County Pool League for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son: Curtis, fiancé of Kelly, a daughter: Melissa, wife of John, a granddaughter: Courtney, and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, David, husband of Delphine.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Salem Reformed Church Cemetery.
The Kirkhoff Funeral Home in Bernville is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
