David R. Lorah

David R. Lorah, 82, of Bernville died suddenly on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. He was the loving husband of Anna Mae (Mountz) Lorah for 52 years. Born in Oley, on October 12, 1934, David was a son of the late George and Kate (Readinger) Lorah.

David was a graduate of Mt. Penn High School, class of 1952. He was a member of St. Thomas Church in Bernville. David proudly served in the United States Air Force for 10 years as an airplane mechanic. He was a Life Member of Womelsdorf VFW Post 6558 and a member of the American Legion of Hamburg for 33 years. David served his community as Township Supervisor for 12 years. He was a John Deere enthusiast and enjoyed tinkering with tractors and cars. You could often find David relaxing with the enjoyment of a crossword puzzle. He was a devoted husband and father.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by his son, Scott A. Lorah and his wife, Stacy (Zeller) of Orlando, Florida; a brother, George Lorah; two sisters, Pearl Sutter and Emily Dengler, all of Exeter Twp, and numerous nieces and nephews.

David was predeceased by three brothers, John Lorah, Lester Lorah and Paul Lorah; and two sisters, Sara Rohrbach and Edna Stiely.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 North Main St. Bernville, PA 19506, officiated by Reverend Dr. Daniel Lute. The family will receive friends and relatives at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will immediately follow the funeral service in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood, Pa.
