David B. Deysher, 80, of Muhlenberg Township, died Friday afternoon in the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Ruth F. (Balthaser) Deysher. They had shared a marriage of forty-five years.
David was born in Oley on February 5, 1933. He was the son of the late James and Mae (Bertolet) Deysher.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Kirk N., husband of Lucia Deysher of Blandon, and two daughters, Melanie M., wife of Matthew J. Horrigan of Montclair, New Jersey, and Susan M., wife of Douglas E. Cohen of Concord, Massachusetts.
David had six grandchildren: Alex, Karen, Ben, Luke, Peter, Sam, and Hannah, and two great grandchildren, Allison and Jack.
He is also survived by a brother, James Deysher, of Ambler, PA.
A sister, Marion Hornberger, predeceased him.
Mr. Deysher had many loving nieces and nephews.
David was a devoted and caring husband, father, and grandfather and loved nothing more than playing with his grandkids.
He was an avid bicyclist, gardener, and tinkerer. He loved classical music, trains, and listening to Eagles football games on the radio.
David was very active in the First Presbyterian Church in Reading.
David graduated from Oley High School in the Class of 1951. He went on to pursue a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering, graduating from the Pennsylvania State University in the Class of 1955.
He spent his career working as an electrical engineer at Western Electric Company, later AT&T and Lucent, retiring in 1990.
David served his country in the United States Army during peacetime.
Private funeral services from the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., Temple, with interment in Laureldale Cemetery.
