David M. Braucher

David M. Braucher, 74, loving husband, father, and grandfather, of Bern Twp., passed away Tuesday May 7th in Reading Hospital & Medical Center of natural causes.
David was the devoted husband of Barbara A. (Bair) Braucher. David and Barbara were married for fifty one years, celebrating their wedding anniversary on May 5th.
Born in Richmond Twp., he was the son of the late Howard M. and Frances (Aulenbach) Braucher.
He was employed by E. J. Breneman Inc., Sinking Spring for thirty six years, retiring as a construction superintendent.
David, and his son Michael, operated a farming business since 1976.
He graduated from Schuylkill Valley High School in 1957 and later from Greer Technical Institute in Illinois.
He was a member of Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bern Twp., where he was a former council member.
He was a life long member of the Fleetwood Grange.
He served in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard for six years.
He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Fire Co.
Additional survivors include one son, Michael D. Braucher, husband of Beth (Leh) Braucher of Mohrsville. He was predeceased by a daughter, Tracy L. Braucher who passed away April 12, 1980.
There are four grandchildren, Nicholas D., Nathan R., Luke M., and Jacob M. Braucher.
There is one brother, Daniel S. Braucher, husband of Brenda Braucher of Frederick Maryland. There are several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday May 11th at 11 AM in Bern Cemetery, Route 183 and Old Bernville Rd., with Rev. David Roper officiating.
A Celebration Of Life Service will be held Sunday May 19th at 6 PM in Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church, 820 W. Leesport Rd., Leesport, PA 19533 (Bern Twp.) with Rev. David Roper officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church at the above address, the American Heart Assoc., 212 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018, or American Lung Assoc., P.O. Box 4029, Easton, PA 18043. The Kirkhoff Funeral Home, Bernville is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
